Part 1: Lido AMM Now Seamlessly Integrated Into Lido mPilot 3.0
Lido mPilot 3.0 is the launch of our Airport Moving Map, Lido AMM, on iOS. This release is designed to improve pilots' situational awareness during taxi operations in all weather conditions so that their attention can be focused on what really matters: safe and efficient aircraft operations.
Already read the first blog about Lido AMM? You can find Part 2 here.
The dynamic airport map is seamlessly integrated into the Terminal module of the Lido mPilot. The look and feel and basic workflows of Lido mPilot are maintained to keep pilot training at a minimum. Lido AMM is powered by our highly accurate and certified Lido AMDB (Aerodrome Mapping Database) geo-database, ensuring the accurate depiction of runways, taxiways, holding positions and other airport features.
The initial launch of the Airport Moving Map supports the Boeing Onboard Network System (ONS) only. Aircraft parameters are transferred from the ONS to the iPad through a simple Wi-Fi connection. Pilots are now able to select different interfaces directly on the application depending on their specific airline configuration.
For En-route, both Boeing ONS and 'Apple Location Services' are available.
Similarly to the Boeing ONS, the Airport Moving Map will soon also support the UTC Aerospace Tablet Interface Module (UTAS TIM).
If your fleet is equipped with other AIDs, please let us know and we will consider them in future releases.
