Lido Flight 4D delivers critical advantages that enhance airline operations, efficiency, and support, offering many key benefits, including:

The system generates optimal flight routes and profiles, ensuring high acceptance rates by Air Traffic Control, which improves overall flight efficiency and punctuality.

Lido Flight 4D significantly reduces fuel consumption, emissions, and operational costs, providing tangible savings for airlines.

The multi-cloud hosting and application management services enhance system reliability, stability, and performance, reducing the risk of operational disruptions.

Airlines have access to a 24/7 helpdesk staffed by certified airmen, ensuring expert support and quick resolution of any issues that may arise.
Lido Flight 4D's advanced technology computes the most efficient routes from a myriad of possibilities, considering real-time flight data, including weather conditions, NOTAMs, Aeronautical Information Publications (AIP), Air Traffic Management (ATM) restrictions, aircraft-specific performance data, and ATC charges, among other cost factors. This translates to substantial savings for airlines.
“The quality of the planning, what is offers to us, the flexibility we have to change a few things, and the support, are the top 3 things that really make us feel like we’re partners.”
Caio Rosante Garcia, Flight Ops Engineering & Efficiency Manager, Azul Linhas Aéreas
“Today, I can honestly say to anyone who is wishing to migrate to Lufthansa Systems as a new customer, they should definitely go for it.”
Murat Şentürk, Flight Ops Support Manager, Freebird Airlines
“We've been using Lido Flight for the past 18 years. We've been very happy with the products and the support from Lufthansa Systems.”
Carlos Figueiredo, Director of Operations and Support, TAP Air Portugal
Lido Flight 4D Integrated Flight Support (IFS) serves as the new core system for assisting airlines in automating flight planning, integrating flight monitoring, flight tracking, and inflight support. This solution enhances situational awareness, enabling airlines to optimize operational efficiency and safety during planning and gate to gate operations.
The system generates flight plans based on airline-specific objectives and decision criteria, while also continuously monitoring aeronautical factors that may impact flights. If an issue arises that the system cannot resolve autonomously, users—such as dispatchers or mission support officers—are alerted through exception notifications. A comprehensive overview of all assigned flights is provided, making it easy to identify and address exceptions requiring dispatcher intervention.
Lido Flight 4D IFS replaces our legacy modules Lido Flight AOS, WINDS and IFM.

Lido Flight WINDS (Flight and Weather Information and Decision Support) is a tool for flight tracking and weather monitoring that supports operational decision-making by enhancing the situational awareness of the user. It combines advanced aviation weather products with aircraft tracking and visualization features. This integrated suite provides a centralized source of critical flight and weather information. By continuously monitoring conditions, the system can generate alerts when disruptions or diversions impact designated flights or airports.
The new Lido Performance Service (LPS) in Lido Flight 4D enables all calculations required to plan for a safe take-off and landing and provides relevant data to the customer. The user can maintain specific aircraft configuration, runway, obstacle and EOSID data, manage and validate that data, and use it to run aircraft performance calculations. The dispatcher can execute performance calculations for departure, destination and destination alternate airports maintained in the Lido Database for all provided aircraft.
The Airline Operations Support (AOS) module supports dispatchers by automating the flight planning process. Considering applicable regulations, airlines can either partially or fully automate their processes for calculating and optimizing flight plans and distributing briefing packets to pilots.
Natural Hazard Mitigation (NHM) is a feature of the Environmental Flight Planning module that integrates natural hazard considerations into the flight planning process. This functionality ensures that potential environmental hazards, such as volcanic ash, turbulence, storms, and extreme low temperatures are accounted for, enhancing flight safety and operational efficiency.
Defective aircraft components, referred to as MEL (Minimum Equipment List) and CDL (Configuration Deviation List) items, can impact an aircraft's capabilities during flight, takeoff and landing .The MEL/CDL Service in Lido Flight 4D enables the automatic consideration of these items during both interactive and automated flight planning processes.
For the Lido Flight 4D Takeoff and Landing modules, the recommended solution is the MEL/CDL Service. This service is designed to work in conjunction with optional modules, such as Takeoff and/or Landing, MEL/CDL Automation, and the MEL/CDL Restriction interface.
The MEL/CDL Service manages the following items based on the configured Lido Flight 4D modules or features:
The Inflight Monitor (IFM) module is used for tracking flights. It provides dispatch personnel and flight crews (via ACARS) with critical updates on deviations from the planned trajectory, including real-time aircraft position monitoring, status changes of all planned and required airports, airspaces and routes incl. current weather conditions, and NOTAMs.
The TFR (Traffic Flow Restrictions) module in Lido Flight 4D automatically accounts for various traffic flow restrictions during flight planning. This includes the ability to manage and consider restrictions published in the Route Availability Document (RAD). By automatically factoring in these restrictions, the module helps optimize routing and contributes to potential cost savings.
Lido Flight 4D Pre-Planning (LPP) is a new web-based application that is designed to support pre-operational flight planning activities. These activities include defining long-term flight connection grids, determining fuel requirements, conducting payload analysis, estimating cost for ATC charges, obtaining overflight permissions and managing all business-related aspects of flight calculations LPP can run thousands of flight calculations in one go and provides actual and statistical weather data to support annual, seasonal or monthly purposes/requirements.
