Lufthansa Systems Blog - March 2019

Wednesday, March 13, 2019 - 13:36

Partnerships between airlines are common more than ever. Each partner has its own perception of how the best synergies can be reached in a partnership. This belief is usually based on their own experience, the available knowledge, established processes and used tools. But in a partnership, both parties have to act as team together to be successful and to generate the ideal synergies for all parties.

In a series of several articles in our LSY blog, we’ll illuminate the various business steps how both partners can generate the best advantages out of their mutual partnership.

Slot Management is still managed at many airlines in a manual-oriented manner. But looking at our human nature, such manual working routines imply a high risk of human errors that naturally happen. Please read my blog to get some ideas how an efficient error minimization risk strategy might look like.

Operations efficiency improved – supporting Air Malta in their digital transformation
Monday, March 4, 2019 - 09:29

Within just seven months, we successfully accomplished our first project at Air Malta. The airline now manages its flight operations with Lido/Flight 4D and NetLine/Ops ++, and is able to boost revenues by preventing revenue leakage from inventory abuses thanks to Revenue Integrity 3rd Generation. In this blog post, I present how the project has become a success.

For more than 25 years I have been working for Lufthansa including many years for Lufthansa Systems. After I had gained first experiences in application programming I specialized on user interfaces, because I have always been interested to get into direct contact with users and find out what they need. Consequently my career path took me into the communication and marketing department. My main focus is on internal communications and I am editor-in-chief for our intranet e. g. But I also take care for the contents and administration of Lufthansa Systems' internet and social media channels.
