Industry event in Zurich: Lufthansa Systems presents new Lido/eRouteManual product release
A mobile updater will allow wireless data updates to mobile devices, enabling pilots to update their Lido/eRouteManual digital navigation charts anytime, anywhere. This feature is part of the new product release which Lufthansa Systems unveiled today at the annual Lido/Navigation User Conference in Zurich.
Various Lido navigation solutions are in service worldwide with approximately 100 airlines, around 50 of whom have sent one or more delegates to this year’s conference. The new mobile updater represents a further, significant simplification for using the digital chart solution on mobile devices. Additionally, administrators can now control the distribution of Lido/eRouteManual data via the DDS (Data Distribution System) portal, create new users, and maintain an up-to-the-minute overview of the update status of all devices across the entire fleet. This is important because each navigation chart update must be clearly documented for the authorities. Airlines will also be able to see the newest release of Lido/mPilot at the conference. Both applications can be controlled via the same web portal, which greatly simplifies administration.
Airlines will benefit from the new Lido/eRouteManual release in a variety of ways. Firstly, pilots are no longer tied to fixed updating processes. This saves time and allows them maximum flexibility, because a wireless Internet connection is all they need to update. At the same time, airline administrators no longer have to deal with time-consuming follow-up and documentation of updates, as they can gain an overview at any time via the new DDS portal. The simplified update process and reliable monitoring features will save everyone time and money.
Every year, approximately 570 million passengers fly all over the world on the basis of navigation charts from Lufthansa Systems.
