For the first time Lufthansa Systems was a sponsor at the 3rd annual IATA Ops Forum 2008 which took place in Madrid, Spain this year from February 25 – 27, 2008. The IATA OPS Forum represented an excellent opportunity for more than 800 aviation operations executives and professionals to meet with IATA executives, members and non-members as well as decision makers from governmental institutions, air navigation service providers and airports from all over the world.
On Monday 25th February 2008, Marc Szepan, Senior Vice President Airline Operations Solutions at Lufthansa Systems, held a presentation on “Electronic Flight Bag – Commercial and Ecological Values for Flight Operations” during the workshop “Aeronautical Information Service (AIS), Performance Bases Navigation (PBN) and The Electronic Flight Bag (EFB)”. The audience was eager for learning about the history of cockpit technology and how to gain value and reduce costs by using electronic flight bags as well as simplifying processes.
Many airline representatives took the chance to address their questions to Marc Szepan and to continue the discussions considering individual aspects for their airline with the Lufthansa Systems’ experts onsite
Moreover, from Monday to Wednesday afternoon the audience was attracted by Lufthansa Systems’ exhibition on booth no. 29, giving a “look and feel” on the solutions Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), Lido OC and LoadControl (WAB):

Our weight & balance solution LoadControl is designed to largely automate and thus accelerate the aircraft handling process. LoadControl offers a streamlined workflow with dispatch and easily integrates different data sources such as booking estimates, check-in figures, cargo and mail data as well as any other 3rd party provider input.
