SAS Group opts for Sirax AirFinance Platform from Lufthansa Systems

May 21, 2008

Extensive functionality and high flexibility deliver efficient processes

SASThe SAS Revenue Information A/S and Lufthansa Systems today announced that they have signed a six-year implementation and service (ASP) contract for the Sirax AirFinance Platform. SAS Revenue Information performs revenue accounting for the SAS Group consisting of SAS Scandinavian Airlines, airBaltic, Spanair, Blue1 and Widerøe. In addition SAS Revenue Information also performs revenue accounting for other airlines. With this decision all will optimize their accounting processes and increase their productivity with the Sirax module.

The implementation of the Sirax AirFinance Platform for SAS will begin in May 2008 and be completed by the end of 2009. The agreement also covers the operation of the systems based on an ASP (application service providing) model.

“Our airlines’ complex revenue accounting and optimization processes place high demands on their financial management systems. The extensive functionality and flexibility of the integrated solution have convinced us to opt for the Sirax AirFinance platform,” said Steen Wulff, Managing Director of SAS Revenue Information.

“I am very pleased that SAS has decided to expand our successful cooperation by introducing the Sirax AirFinance Platform. This decision of the European major airline further strengthens our position in the market and shows that our integrated platform solutions deliver considerable added value for our customers,” comments Stefan Auerbach, Senior Vice President Sales EMEA/Central at Lufthansa Systems.

Airlines in the SAS Group have been among Lufthansa Systems’ customers for many years. For example, Spanair has been using the IT provider’s solutions for fleet and crew planning (NetLine) and revenue management (ProfitLine) since 2004. The SAS Group member airBaltic also optimizes its revenues with the revenue management solution from Lufthansa Systems.

The Sirax AirFinance Platform from Lufthansa Systems is the first integrated platform to optimize all of an airline’s financial processes. Sirax controls and manages an airline's billing process by performing a fully automatic check of ticket sales against actual flight data. Integrated sub-processes also support the billing of interline flights between airlines. Based on this check, the actual revenues are then calculated within a very short timeframe.
