AdvancedCargo Suite optimizes all core processes for cargo airlines
Lufthansa Systems today announced that it is expanding its cooperation with Lufthansa Cargo AG. The world’s leading cargo airline intends to consolidate all of its core cargo processes – including booking, handling and revenue accounting – using the AdvancedCargo Suite from Lufthansa Systems. Lufthansa Cargo is the second renowned cargo airline after Southwest Airlines to opt for this new IT platform.
“Our partnership with Lufthansa Systems gives us access to modern, innovative technology for the integrated control and optimization of our processes,” said Carsten Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo AG. “This will strengthen our leading position in the international air cargo market.”
“The AdvancedCargo Suite is an important part of our strategy of offering airlines efficient platform solutions for all aspects of their business,” explained Wolfgang F. W. Gohde, CEO of Lufthansa Systems AG. “Our IT expertise and in-depth understanding of logistics processes are embodied in this innovative platform.” One of the key benefits of this concept is the seamless integration of all platform modules while a standardized user interface ensures ergonomic comfort and high productivity.
The AdvancedCargo Suite consists of three functional modules. AdvancedBooking consistently controls the booking process across all distribution channels and supplies high-quality reliable data. AdvancedGroundHandling supports the handling and transport of cargo including automatic connections to customs and warehouse systems. AdvancedAccounting simplifies and accelerates accounting and billing processes.
The introduction of the AdvancedCargo Suite is part of Lufthansa Cargo's strategy aimed at establishing a process-oriented architecture for its applications which will replace its existing centralized system.
