Silverjet and Lufthansa Systems expand cooperation

February 7, 2008

All-Business Class carrier selects additional solutions for airline operations and airline management

Lido OCThe British, exclusively Business Class, long-haul airline, Silverjet has chosen further navigation and resource management applications from Lufthansa Systems for their growing operations. Following the successful implementation of Lufthansa Systems’ flight planning application Lido Operations Center (Lido OC) in late 2007, the additional solutions will now complete the existing IT landscape in the areas of navigation and performance data analysis. The airline also opted for the provider’s solutions for resource management, facilitating most efficient aircraft and crew utilization. From its Luton base, the carrier operates daily one-class services to New York and Dubai, with more destinations to follow.

Besides Lido OC, the full contract also comprises Lido eFlightBag, Lido RouteManual, Lido FMS, and Lido Take-off Performance Analysis. The integration of these tools results in optimized performance as compared to individual solutions. The airline’s resource management requirements will be met by NetLine/Ops, for all operations control processes, and NetLine/Crew, for all aspects of crew management.

“Since its implementation, Lido OC proved to be perfectly reliable,” explains David Fleming, Technical Director and Member of the Executive Board, Flight Operations at Silverjet. “We are confident that the additional solutions will equally fulfil our everyday operational requirements as this is a fundamental part of our growth strategy.”

“We are delighted that Silverjet chose a number of our products besides Lido OC. It shows how smoothly these individual systems can be integrated. Our applications support the airline in maintaining stable and efficient flight operations which in turn is the basis for customer satisfaction. We hope to further extend this successful partnership in the future,” says Matthias van Leeuwen, Senior Vice President Sales EMEA South at Lufthansa Systems.
