U.S. authorities certify check-in solutions from Lufthansa Systems
The APIS Quick Query (AQQ) functionality of the Lufthansa Systems check-in solutions has received certification by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The agency acknowledged that the check-in solutions meet the requirements for fast online retrieval of passenger data. The applications enable airlines to submit passenger entry data easier, faster and more flexibly, resulting in the carriers saving time and money.
Airlines use the Advanced Passenger Information System (APIS) to transmit the necessary entry data of their passengers to the responsible authorities before departure. This data transfer is mandatory for the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea and other countries with similar entry requirements. Based on APIS, AQQ now allows for a quick online query of identification data.
The check-in solutions are an integral part of Lufthansa Systems’ new Ground Solutions platform. This innovative suite includes the full range of check-in and boarding channels. It provides the airlines with an efficient and optimized design of these processes from one source. The Ground Solutions modules from Lufthansa Systems are, among other carriers, used by Austrian Airlines, bmi, LOT, Lufthansa and TACA.
