Spanair to manage revenues with Lufthansa Systems' Rembrandt solution
Spanish Star Alliance carrier Spanair has signed up with Lufthansa Systems' ProfitLine/Yield Rembrandt solution to further optimize its revenue management processes. Thanks to the solution's flexibility, Spanair will be able to quickly adjust the prices made available to the market according to the changing demand and competitive offerings. Special enhancements made for the low fare airline market and Spanair’s multi-class product will put the Spanish carrier in a unique position, as it will be able to take advantage of market opportunities generated both for low-cost and full-service carriers as needed. Based in Palma de Mallorca, Spanair is a member of SAS Group. Spanair provides schedules and charter flights throughout Spain, Europe and North Africa to 188 destinations. The airline has announced plans to extend its route network, revolving around a major expansion plan to become the leading airline for business travel by 2010.
From data loading and demand forecasting to optimization and availability upload, Rembrandt provides the complete coverage of the core revenue management tasks in a user-friendly design. Spanair was particularly impressed with the quick implementation that Lufthansa Systems has demonstrated with other revenue management projects in the recent past, and the IT provider's track record at integrating the solution within the existing SAS IT landscape. This way, Spanair can expect to reap the rewards of the new system starting the summer of this year. Lufthansa Systems' ProfitLine/Yield solution has already been implemented at airlines in Europe, North and South America, Africa and Asia.
