SunExpress flies with navigation charts from Lufthansa Systems

The German/Turkish holiday airline SunExpress is the latest customer to use the Lido RouteManual from Lufthansa Systems. A five-year contract to this effect was signed recently. The airline also has the option of migrating to the electronic version of the navigation charts - the Lido eRouteManual - during the term of the contract. The first Sun Express planes have already taken off with the new navigation charts on board.

The Lido RouteManual generates charts using the Lido navigation database, which contains worldwide aeronautical information as well as comprehensive geographical data. The colors and symbols on the charts support the visual thinking of the pilot and ensure that all relevant information is visible at a glance.

SunExpress has been using aeronautical solutions from Lufthansa Systems for flight planning and FMS data for several years. A five-year agreement for airplane performance monitoring was signed along with the contract for the Lido RouteManual.

SunExpress was founded in 1989 as a joint venture between Lufthansa AG and Turkish Airlines. The airline is headquartered in Antalya and Izmir and operates 160 flights each week from European countries to Turkish destinations. SunExpress aims to transport three million passengers for the first time in 2007.
