Condor flying ahead with e-ticketing solution from Lufthansa Systems
Lufthansa Systems has successfully implemented their e-ticketing solution at German leisure airline Condor. Since March it is possible for passengers to fly paperless on scheduled and charter flights. With 100 percent electronic ticketing by June 01, 2007, Condor implements the relevant IATA directive coming into force in May 2008 one year ahead of time.
Lufthansa Systems offers the most modern solution to handle e-ticketing processes and has taken on a pioneering role. With its e-ticketing solution, Lufthansa Systems has created a state-of-the-art technology that handles the e-ticketing processes that deviate from conventional ticketing and check-in processes. It allows these processes to be integrated into the existing system. Around ten years ago, Lufthansa Systems introduced e-ticketing for Lufthansa under the brand name of "etix". In the meantime the e-ticketing solution of Lufthansa Systems is used by numerous carriers. On top of that Lufthansa Systems has successfully developed a system that fulfils the very complex requirements of e-ticket interlining, enabling customers to be checked right through to their final destination, without the need for traditional paper tickets. Condor plans to be able to offer interlining with Lufthansa as fast as possible.
Condor is today one of the worlds leading leisure airlines with more than 70 destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa and America. The carrier is headquartered in Frankfurt and offers an area-wide network of 17 departure airports throughout in Germany. Condor carries about seven million passengers to their holiday destinations each year.
