SunExpress continues to rely on FMS data from Lufthansa Systems
SunExpress and Lufthansa Systems have renewed their contract for the use of the Flight Management System (FMS) database. As a result, SunExpress will continue to receive all navigation data from Lufthansa Systems for the next five years.
The FMS database enables pilots to access flight-related information that is specific to their type of aircraft and route at any time. The FMS database is directly connected to the FMCGS (Flight Management Computer Guidance System), which takes over complete autopilot control in all modern aircraft. The FMS database also contains important data to ensure the most efficient engine power levels, ultimately resulting in fuel savings.
SunExpress had opted for the Lido RouteManual navigation chart solution back in June 2007. The contract renewal for the use of FMS data marks yet another milestone in the successful cooperation between SunExpress and Lufthansa Systems. Headquartered in Antalya, Turkey, SunExpress is a joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines.
