Ocean Airlines relies on FMS data from Lufthansa Systems
Lufthansa Systems has attracted the Italian cargo carrier Ocean Airlines for its FMS database. Both partners have signed a five-year-contract which brings the total number of FMS customers to more than 140. Ocean Airlines already uses the flight planning services of Lufthansa Systems’ Lido OC solution.
The FMS database contains all important route information including altitude and airport information to optimize the flight route and guide the autopilot on board of modern planes. The content, which consists of worldwide aeronautical data, is adjusted monthly to the planned operating area of the aircraft. A complete aeronautical coverage consisting of all elements needed in aviation today has been included in the FMS database, covering, but not limited to, airport information, airways, terminal and enroute waypoints, navaids as well as holding and approach procedures.
Ocean Airlines is a modern all cargo airline, which was established in 2003 to provide quality air freight service from Italy to Asia, Africa and North respectively South America. The cargo carrier is based in Brescia Montichiari Airport in Italy.
