Volaris controls costs with FinanceLine solution from Lufthansa Systems
Mexican low-cost airline Volaris signed a contract with Lufthansa Systems to implement the IT provider's controlling solution FinanceLine/CostControl. The solution uses operational, contractual and master data to improve the efficiency and accuracy of cost calculation, cost distribution and airline invoice processing and was specially designed to meet management and financial controlling requirements in small to mid-sized airlines.
FinanceLine/CostControl incorporates the high standards set by SAP, the leading producer of integrated business solutions, and allies this with Lufthansa Systems’ airline process know-how. To improve the accuracy of cost distribution, the solution uses real expenses and operational data to enable cross-checks on the reliability of charges posted to individual cost centers. This way Volaris is able to achieve an efficient and precise cost control and thereby a top quality route profitability outcome.
Volaris is the commercial brand of the Mexican group Controladora Vuela Compañía de Aviación S.A. de C.V., a low cost airline based in the city of Toluca, Mexico State. The founding and owner partners of Volaris are Protego Discovery Fund, Grupo Televisa the world's biggest spanish mass media conglomerate, Mexican bank Inbursa and TACA, the national airline of El Salvador. Volaris currently operates four A319 and has signed an order of 16 more aircraft of the same model, for delivery in 2007.
