Wind Jet integrates flight operations in partnership with Lufthansa Systems Lufthansa Systems and Wind Jet announced that they have signed a contract to provide the Italian low-cost carrier with integrated solutions from Lufthansa Systems’ Airline Operations portfolio. This includes the Lido Route Manual charting solution (RM), FMS services, Lido Operations Center (Lido OC) route planning system, and Runway Weight Charts. Implementation of all solutions is scheduled to be completed by fall of this year in a stepwise approach.
This contract with Lufthansa Systems reflects Wind Jet’s focus to reorganize its operations into an integrated and process-oriented approach. Both companies are currently negotiating the introduction of further solutions from the Lufthansa Systems airline operations and network management portfolio in the future. This enables the Italian carrier to lay the foundations for bundling its operations processes in an Integrated Operations Control Center (IOCC).
Wind Jet was founded in 2003 and connects 13 national and international destinations with its home base in Catania, Italy. The airline’s fleet is currently made up of 10 Airbus A 320 and carried more than two million passengers in 2005. |
