Air Berlin saves costs with route planning system from Lufthansa Systems
Air Berlin has decided to continue its cooperation with Lufthansa Systems in the field of flight planning and has extended its existing contract until 2011. The German carrier first signed on with Lufthansa Systems’ Lido Operations Center (Lido OC) flight planning system in 2001.
Various airlines comparing Lido OC with other route planning software found out that the solution of Lufthansa Systems produced superior results. Air Berlin is one of more than 110 airlines worldwide that optimize their flight operations processes with the support of Lufthansa Systems’ airline operations solutions, including British Airways, Emirates, Finnair, KLM, Lufthansa, Qantas, and Singapore Airlines.
Lido OC covers all aspects of flight planning and following procedures. With its sophisticated calculation capabilities Lido OC helps airlines minimize fuel and operational costs by selecting the optimum routing for each flight. The spectrum of functionality and processes include many enhanced features such as the automatic calculation of flight plans and distribution of flight related data, like NOTAMs and weather details. Additionally, Lido OC considers all valid aeronautical restrictions while offering many state-of-the-art optimization possibilities, e.g. the minimum cost or fuel track. |
