RouteManual charting solution from Lufthansa Systems attracts Lufthansa Regional partners
With Augsburg Airways, Contact Air, Eurowings and Lufthansa CityLine, several Lufthansa Regional partners have decided to equip their cockpit crews with the Lido Route Manual electronic charting solution from Lufthansa Systems. The carriers are joined by their partners Germanwings and Cirrus Airlines, who have also signed up for this solution. Lufthansa Passage Airlines has been using Lufthansa Systems' charting solution since 2004, thereby taking the first step toward eliminating navigation charts in the cockpit altogether.

Lufthansa Systems breaks new ground in database-aided chart generation with the development of the Lido Route Manual, as the tool is based on a Geographic Information System (GIS). The GIS charts are generated electronically from the Lido navigation database. The integration makes it possible to include any and all changes made in the database in the next updated version of all relevant charts.

The introduction of the RouteManual facilitates the switch to the eRouteManual, the electronic display of the Lido RouteManual, which enables airlines to turn the paperless cockpit into reality. Thanks to its fully database-driven chart production the solution allows for unique functionalities, like single procedure presentation for standard instrument departures and arrivals or minimum sector altitude visualization. This ensures that the pilots can electronically access a world wide data set of airport and enroute aeronautical information.
