Lufthansa Systems implements e-ticketing at Cirrus Airlines
German regional carrier Cirrus Airlines is the latest carrier to trust Lufthansa Systems with the introduction of e-ticketing as demanded by IATA. Among other carriers that benefit from the solution are Air Berlin, Austrian Airlines, British Midland, LOT Polish Airlines and Lufthansa.
Lufthansa Systems has taken on a pioneering role in the introduction of e-ticketing. The IT service provider has created a state-of-the-art solution that handles the e-ticketing processes which deviate from conventional ticketing and check-in processes and allows these processes to be integrated into the existing system. Around ten years ago, Lufthansa Systems introduced e-ticketing for Lufthansa under the brand name of "etix" and has since continuously developed the product according to the market and specific customer requirements. On top of that Lufthansa Systems has successfully developed a system that fulfils the very complex requirements of e-ticket interlining, enabling customers to be checked right through to their final destination, without the need for traditional paper tickets.
Established in 1995, Cirrus Airlines is one of Germany’s largest regional carriers and connects about 20 destinations in Germany and abroad. In addition to scheduled flights, Cirrus successfully operates Charter flights as well as ad hoc insets for other airlines. Cirrus Aviation, a member of the Cirrus Group, is experienced in the area of Executive Charter and with high-performance aircraft such as Lear and Citation jets.
