Jade Cargo International selects FMS database from Lufthansa Systems
Newly launched Chinese cargo carrier Jade Cargo International has signed a contract with Lufthansa Systems to benefit from the IT provider's Flight Management System (FMS) Navigation Database Services. Jade Cargo International joins more than 130 FMS data customers worldwide to date.
FMS supplies comprehensive navigation data for cockpit systems and contains important route information including altitude and alternate airports to optimize flight planning. The content, which consists of worldwide aeronautical data, is adjusted monthly to the planned operating area of the aircraft. Lufthansa Systems guarantees that the FMS database is customized to meet the needs of the specific types of aircraft used by an airline.
Jade Cargo International Company Ltd. was founded in October 2004 as a joint venture between Shenzhen Airlines, Lufthansa Cargo AG and DEG-Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH. The Company's headquarter is located in Shenzhen (SZX), a fast-growing industrial hub in Pearl River Delta of Guangdong province in China . Jade Cargo will begin flight operation in August 2006, following delivery of its first freighter. A firm order for six Boeing 747-400ERF has been placed to enter service until January 2008. During the initial phase, Jade Cargo will operate from Shenzhen (SZX) to key Asian, European destinations. In next phase, it will expand to meet further customer requirements in Europe as well as the United States. |
