Lufthansa Systems optimizes slot management processes at Lufthansa
As attractive slots are becoming increasingly important, efficient slot management has
turned into a key factor in determining an airline's success. Lufthansa has decided to rely
on support from Lufthansa Systems to further integrate and optimize its slot management
processes. This puts the airline also in a position to increase the speed and efficiency
of these processes significantly.
The close integration of scheduling and slot management and the exchange of complete flight
schedule scenarios create a competitive edge for the carrier. This optimized process ensures
that Lufthansa is now able to implement schedule changes quickly and efficiently and
reconcile them with the airport slot coordinators.
This project further seals the flight planning and slot management cooperation between
Lufthansa and Lufthansa Systems, which dates back to 1997 when Lufthansa started using
NetLine/Sched for the development of flight schedules. Since 1999, the airline also implemented
the Slot Monitor NetLine module, which offers numerous functions to monitor slots continually.
