Adam Air opts for FMS database from Lufthansa Systems
The Indonesian Low Cost Carrier Adam SkyConnection Airlines PT (Adam Air), based in Jakarta, has chosen Lufthansa Systems' Flight Management System (FMS) Navigation Database Services. Lufthansa Systems has more than 120 data customers worldwide.
FMS supplies comprehensive navigation data for cockpit systems and contains important route information including altitude and alternate airports to optimize flight planning. The content, which consists of worldwide aeronautical data, is adjusted monthly to the planned operating area of the aircraft. Lufthansa Systems guarantees that the FMS database is customized to meet the needs of the specific types of aircraft used by an airline.
Adam Air was established in 2003 and started domestic operations in December 2003. Currently the fleet consists of six Boeing 737 but the airline expects to increase its fleet further still in 2005 with the aim of operating 12 aircraft by the end of the year. Adam Air just started operating international flights by launching thrice daily connections between Jakarta and Singapore. |
