Weidmüller selects Lufthansa Systems as global
implementation partner for SAP Business One

March 21, 2005

Weidmüller, the leading manufacturer of components for electric connection technology, today announced that it has selected Lufthansa Systems to provide support in the introduction of the Business One SAP solution at about 11 subsidiaries. Weidmüller's aim is to harmonize the previously heterogeneous application landscape of these subsidiaries. In this project, which has an order value of about EUR 350,000, Lufthansa Systems will serve as general contractor.

The Weidmüller employees will predominantly use the new SAP solution for sales, financial accounting and controlling. Based on the current planning, about 220 users will work with SAP Business One beginning in mid-2006.

The exchange of data between SAP Business One and the central mySAP ERP solution is performed via SAP Exchange Infrastructure (XI). Based on the direct connection of the local installations to the central SAP Enterprise Portal and the SAP Business Warehouse, up-to-date corporate information will be available to the decision-makers at Weidmüller at all times.

"The decisive factor in contracting with Lufthansa Systems was the positive experience we were able to gather during the preceding proof of concept phase as well as Lufthansa Systems' expertise in international SAP implementations," said Torsten Hopmeier, CIO of the Weidmüller Group.
