Lufthansa Systems further develops revenue management and pricing solution
By implementing a fully integrated approach to revenue management and pricing unique to the industry,
the IT provider will in the future be able to offer its customers a solution that ultimately leads to
real-time dynamic pricing.
The dynamics of the airline market, especially imposed by the low-fare airlines, require a
fast and extremely flexible way of calculating prices and setting availabilities, avoiding
spiral- down effects on average yield and total revenue. Lufthansa Systems' innovative
solution will allow for prices that are more recent and accurate, as well as context-based.
The current price for a specific passenger segment will be determined real- time. The system
will comprehensively cover the needs of the various business models like low-fare airlines,
traditional airlines and network carriers, considering the characteristics of the classical
GDSs while maintaining all advantages of alternative distribution channels.
