Lufthansa Systems operates complete Microsoft Exchange environment for small and medium-sized enterprises

Hosted Exchange is a new outsourcing service from Lufthansa Systems for SMEs. The IT service provider in Kelsterbach now takes over the complete operation of the Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 communication platform.

Customers are given quick and easy access to the full range of functions provided by a company-wide messaging system, without the need for high investments. For example, employees receive immediate access to a global address directory, a calendar and a shared task management system. Administrators can conveniently access configuration data via a Web console. Users can either take advantage of Outlook Web Access through a web browser, or they can use the traditional Outlook client. A security package run by Lufthansa Systems protects against viruses and filters out spam. Additionally, Outlook Mobile Access gives customers the ability to connect Windows Mobile PDAs and smart phones to the system.

Complete outsourced office environment
In addition to operating the e-mail infrastructure, Lufthansa Systems offers a standard "Plug 'n Work" package which covers all IT services related to the operation of a complete workstation environment. This includes everything from hardware such as thin clients, TFT monitors, printers, telephones and active network components, to current Microsoft Office applications, IP telephony and file and print services. In the thin client environment, all users work on central servers, creating a high level of flexibility and reliability.
