Crew management system from Lufthansa Systems enables Spanair to comply with European regulations
Expanding its cooperation with Lufthansa Systems, Spanair has opted for an upgrade package of
the integrated NetLine/Crew crew management system.
The system’s “Cosmic Radiation” module will enable Spanair to comply with European regulations
of monitoring the individual radiation exposure of crew members. As exposure should not exceed
a defined annual limit, the dose-per-flight data must be stored for every crew member and for
each leg. Historical information also has to be saved for the lifetime of a crew member.
The Internet-based NetLine/Crew CrewLink solution provides a convenient and direct link to the
crew members. It takes over the task previously performed by the traditional crew contact unit.
CrewLink supports automated check-in/check-out facilities at remote units, preventing crew
members from making unnecessary trips to their home base and requests and preferences are put
in and maintained very easily at home or en route. The system also offers distinct benefits for
crew members: Having access to all duty-related information at any time and anywhere greatly
increases their flexibility.
Spanair has been using the Lufthansa Systems portfolio for network planning and control -
NetLine/Sched (schedule management), NetLine/Ops (operations control) and NetLine/Crew
(crew management) - since May 2004.
