Lufthansa Systems optimizes traffic and network ground information for Lufthansa
Lufthansa Systems has implemented a new release of TANGO (Traffic and Network Ground Operations) at Lufthansa Passage. This IT system supports the distribution of information relating to all traffic and network ground operation processes. The release incorporates a number of new key functionalities, among them the distribution of navigation kit information. Navigation kits are sets of route charts customized for specific aircraft types. TANGO enables airlines to quickly switch chart kits in case of aircraft changes at short notice, which reduces potential delay times.
Lufthansa has been using TANGO since 2002, thus ensuring the permanent availability of current flight-relevant information. This includes departure and arrival times, passenger numbers, flight routes, as well as a constant overview of all flight movements. TANGO is based on modern client/server technology and can be expanded to grow with the challenges of increasing air traffic volumes.
In addition to Lufthansa Passage, TANGO coordinates this type of information for all flights of Lufthansa CityLine, Condor and Lufthansa Cargo, as well as for all flights handled by Lufthansa.
