Austrian Airlines teams up with Lufthansa Systems to realize e-ticket interlining
Austrian Airline has now decided in favor of Lufthansa Systems' e-ticketing solution. The airline was particularly convinced by the system's functionalities, as it perfectly addresses the carrier's needs and comprises the business rules for e-ticket interlining based on Star Alliance business requirements. It will enable the Austrian carrier to exchange electronic tickets with all Star Alliance Partners and will be implemented stepwise for the different pairings until August 2005.
Last year, the aviation industry association IATA and its member airlines decided to make electronic ticketing the global standard by 2007. With its e-ticket interlining Lufthansa Systems has developed a solution that successfully fulfills the very complex requirements of e-ticket interlining. In addition, it complies with both IATA standards and those of all Star Alliance members and allows more partners to be taken on board.
In December 2004, Lufthansa Systems implemented e-ticket interlining between Air Canada and Lufthansa. |
