Lufthansa Systems implements e-ticketing for Air Berlin
Air Berlin is now able to offer its customers the advantages of using an electronic ticket on selected flights. For this purpose, Lufthansa Systems has developed an e-ticketing which is connected to the integrated solution MultiHost and at the same time independent from the check-in system. The processes were customized to match the airline's needs and interfaces and Lufthansa Systems has integrated it's electronic ticketing solution with Air Berlin's existing check-in system.
Air Berlin customers can continue to rely on Internet, call centers or any IATA travel agency to book their tickets. With Lufthansa Systems' new e-ticketing solution, issuing, mailing out or picking up tickets at the airport will soon be a thing of the past. Step by step, the electronic solution will be expanded to include all of Air Berlin's network of flights. E-ticketing and its easy functionality allows charter carriers as well as low-cost airlines to conveniently and cost-effectively take advantage of electronic ticketing while using the IATA sales distribution system.
And this has a further advantage for the airline: The used e-tickets are automatically processed by the database, which allows for a speedy transmission of the data to Air Berlin's revenue accounting system. |
