Lufthansa Group announces change in top position in IT Services business segment
The supervisory board of Lufthansa Systems Group GmbH appointed Wolfgang F.W. Gohde (51) in today's meeting as new Chief Executive Officer. Gohde will succeed Dr. Peter Franke (60) on April 1, 2005, who will retire after ten successful years as the company's CEO.
Wolfgang F.W. Gohde looks back on a long career in the Lufthansa Group, where he most recently occupied the position of Senior Vice President Aircraft and Overhaul VIP Jet Services at Lufthansa Technik AG.
Gohde, who has degrees in business administration and in engineering, began his professional career as a computer engineer. At Lufthansa, he first worked in the organizational department of the company's headquarters in Cologne. As project manager, he made significant contributions to shaping the reorganization of technical operations in Hamburg and Frankfurt during this time. In April 1987, Gohde took over the management of information systems in the technical division of Lufthansa AG, which had almost 12,000 employees at the time. From August 1995 until the end of 1999, Gohde was Chief Executive Officer of Shannon Aerospace Ltd., a subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik AG in Ireland. As Senior Vice President Aircraft and Overhaul VIP Jet Services, Gohde has been in charge of Lufthansa Technik AG's worldwide activities in this field since December 1999.
Managing Director Dr. Gunter Küchler (48) will continue to be responsible for sales and marketing at Lufthansa Systems.
