Virgin Express and dba have selected the innovative ProfitLine/Yield
Rembrandt revenue management solution from Lufthansa Systems. The
tried and tested revenue management solution has been further developed
to meet the specific needs of low cost carriers.
At Virgin Express, the Belgian low cost carrier and dba, the second
largest scheduled carrier within Germany, the IT-solution ProfitLine/Yield
Rembrandt system from Lufthansa Systems will soon replace existing
revenue management systems. The ProfitLine/Yield Rembrandt system
has been adapted to meet the specific requirements of low cost carriers.
The system permanently monitors incoming bookings and closes cheap
fare categories as soon as there is an indication that demand is
high enough to fill the aircraft even at higher ticket prices.
Paul Sies, Commercial Director of Virgin Express, explains why
a decision in favor of Lufthansa Systems was taken: "We have
selected Lufthansa Systems as our future partner for revenue management
because their ProfitLine/Yield system provides us with all the functionality
for a flexible and quick response required in today's low cost airline
environment. This is combined with a support concept which will
ensure that we can quickly adapt to any changes in the markets."
ProfitLine/Yield Rembrandt covers all core processes of revenue
management - from forecasting customer demand to optimizing prices.
The process of systems integration will also involve the implementation
of interfaces to the reservation systems of Virgin Express and dba
in order to put the airlines in a position to access the relevant
passenger data and automatically control the availability of prices.
"ProfitLine/Yield Rembrandt from Lufthansa Systems will enable
us to improve our capacity utilization forecasts and maximize our
revenues. Our decision was based on the good reputation of the revenue
management solution from Lufthansa Systems with international airlines
of all sizes and by its ability to integrate flexibly with a variety
of inventory systems," says Martin Gauss, Managing Director
at dba.
In addition to Virgin Express and dba, two regional carriers, Ostfriesische
Lufttransport GmbH (OLT) and European Air Express (EAE), decided
to adopt ProfitLine/Yield Rembrandt in April this year.
