Klaus Bernhardt appointed new CEO

Lufthansa Systems, one of the world's leading IT providers for the airline and aviation industry today announced that Klaus Bernhardt has been appointed CEO Lufthansa Systems Americas, a subsidiary of Lufthansa Systems Group GmbH.

Since September 1, 2004, he had been acting as interim CEO for the company. Klaus Bernhardt has a long and distinguished career in the IT and aviation marketplace. Beginning in 2000, he served as managing director of Synavion, a joint venture between Lufthansa and Siemens. Synavion’s competencies center on software and systems solutions for efficient ground handling. Mr. Bernhardt played a major role both in the foundation and development of Siemens Business Services' external business arm, which during his tenure achieved numerous significant joint venture and outsourcing contracts.

With this announcement, Lufthansa Systems continues to underline its commitment to growth in the American market: "The American market remains highly important to us, and we are remaining dedicated not only to strengthening but to further expanding our presence here," emphasized Klaus Bernhardt.
