Lufthansa Systems today announced that Spanair has signed an
agreement to deploy its integrated NetLine product line. NetLine
will enable the Spanish carrier to increase the efficiency of its
entire fleet operations, respond more quickly and economically to
flight plan changes and optimize its crew management.
The integrated NetLine product line from Lufthansa Systems is one
the world's leading software solutions for the airline industry.
Implemented successfully by more than 40 airlines worldwide, NetLine
has gained a reputation as a solution that is characterized by a
high degree of efficiency, security and user-friendliness. Spanair
has opted for three NetLine products, which will enable the carrier
to optimize all planning and control processes in connection with
its resources. Thanks to NetLine's modular design, even individual
components create measurable added value for customers. Combining
the individual products will even enhance this benefit. Spanair,
which is based in Palma de Mallorca, will be using NetLine/Sched
(schedule management), NetLine/Ops (operations control) and NetLine/Crew
(crew management). Lufthansa Systems guarantees a fast and seamless
flow of information between the individual modules.
The first step of migrating to NetLine will involve the creation
of interfaces between the new system and Spanair's remaining IT
landscape. Besides an overall project management responsibility
for the migration project, Lufthansa Systems was also appointed
to provide software maintenance and user support until the year
2007.
"NetLine will replace a number of tools that Spanair is currently
using. Lufthansa Systems guarantees the seamless integration of
the NetLine products into our existing IT landscape Thanks to their
expertise and experience the company has a proven track record of
successfully implementing this product with a variety of airlines
in the past. We are confident that we have found the right partner
to increase our efficiency," says Eduardo Aranda, COO of Spanair.
Spanair is yet another Star Alliance member that has joined the
fold of Lufthansa Systems customers. Continually advancing its optimization
tools such as NetLine, Lufthansa Systems puts airlines in a position
to achieve a competitive edge by providing them with a sound foundation
on which to make decisions in both the planning phase and their
day-to-day business operations.
