Wolfgang F. W. Gohde

CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board

Wolfgang F. W. Gohde, born August 23, 1953 in Demmin, Germany, began studying mechanical engineering in 1974 after having finished his training as an engineering draftsman. After earning his degree, he worked in computer science for three years. In 1980, he commenced his studies in business administration at the University of Kiel. Four years later, he graduated with a degree in business administration.

In February 1985, Wolfgang F. W. Gohde started his career with Lufthansa in the organizational department of the company's headquarters in Cologne. As project manager, he made significant contributions to shaping the reorganization of technical operations in Hamburg and Frankfurt during this time. In April 1987, he took over the management of information systems in the technical division of Lufthansa AG, which had almost 12,000 employees at the time.

From 1995 until the end of 1999, Wolfgang F. W. Gohde was Chief Executive Officer of Shannon Aerospace Ltd., a subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik in Ireland. After working four years in Shannon, he became Senior Vice President Aircraft and Overhaul VIP Jet Services and assumed responsibility for Lufthansa Technik's worldwide activities in this field in October 1999.

On April 1, 2005 Wolfgang F. W. Gohde transferred to Lufthansa Systems and took over as CEO & Chairman of the Executive Board. The company is one of the world's leading IT service providers for the airline and aviation industry. Lufthansa Systems is present at several locations in Germany, has foreign branches in 16 countries and employs around 3,200 staff worldwide.
