The Sirax AirFinance Platform is continuously upgraded to meet industry requirements and anticipate future developments in the airline business.
Currently, IATA is switching to the next generation of interline billing: Simplified Interline Settlement (SIS). Starting in 2011, a complete electronic paperless workflow will replace all existing clearing mechanisms (Form 1&2, ICH-Web, IDEC and paper invoices).
Over a period of two years up to the end of 2012, all airlines worldwide that participate in the ICH and ACH are requested to change their processes and systems - until SIS becomes mandatory in the industry.
With Sirax, activities to achieve compliance with SIS requirements are already in progress. By the end of 2010, Sirax will be able to produce and receive the new IS-XML format that is the basis for the SIS settlement. This allows important cost reductions.
Sirax processes for interline billing can be streamlined significantly
- reduction of any registration or data correction process as well as manual data capture effort
- automation of the audit trail for invoices due to the availability of data details
- significant reduction of shipment costs due to the elimination of all paper
- reduction of the entire invoice processing cycle
For most airlines with the need to deploy the new standard, it is more cost-effective to switch to the proven Sirax AirFinance Platform than to invest in their existing legacy systems. Apart from the SIS compliance, Sirax offers a multitude of advantages when it comes to optimizing an airlines’ Revenue Accounting processes.
