However, these data must comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), a new system of rules issued by the credit card industry.

This happens in an easy and innovative way:
- Instead of appliying the PCI DSS requirements for each application, PCI Compliance Engine removes the credit card number from the individual applications and replaces it with a so called “Artificial ID”. The tool is the only data unit that centrally isolates and stores the credit card number according to PCI DSS requirements.
- As the artificial ID is neither a credit card number nor an encrypted variant of a credit card number, the PCI DSS requirements for the applications concerned are no longer relevant. Several applications can use PCI Compliance Engine simultaneously. These applications can therefore be removed from the focus of PCI DSS at little cost.
