Based on its previous experience, Lufthansa Systems has developed an innovative optimization component: the NetLine Fleet Assigner. It is the first solution to combine strategic and tactical fleet planning, covering the entire planning period of an airline up to a few weeks prior to departure.
And this is what the NetLine Fleet Assigner does: It is capable of distributing seating capacities quickly while taking all other constraints such as maintenance planning into consideration. On the basis of this calculation airlines can exchange aircraft specifically on suitable routes, thereby reducing costs and increasing revenues. This automatically results in higher profitability.
By using the NetLine Fleet Assigner medium-sized airlines can increase their profitability by up to 600,000 euros per month. The optimizer realizes this savings potential by processing passenger forecasts on an O&D basis in combination with estimates for revenues and operational costs. A high-speed algorithm facilitates the fast generation of multiple scenarios and realistic optimization models based on a flexible rule framework.
The new NetLine Fleet Assigner was developed jointly with Cathay Pacific. This ensures that it incorporates market requirements in an optimal way.
