NetLine/Crew optimizers are important components of the IOCC Platform
The planning of crew rosters is a highly complex task which must take many factors into consideration. By using the NetLine/Crew optimizers you can reduce your costs while at the same time increasing the satisfaction of the flight personnel.
When planning rotations, the fair distribution of duty hours plays an important role, as does the minimization of hotel and transfer costs. At the same time, crew members can express individual wishes, referred to as crew requests, which can also be taken into consideration during planning. The more crew members there are on duty, the more complex the whole procedure becomes. In addition, an airline must observe numerous legal, contractual and logistical parameters.
All these factors are taken into consideration by the NetLine/Crew optimizers. You can therefore plan and control the allocation of your pilots and flight attendants optimally while making the best possible use of the available resources.
-
In the event of changes at short notice – such as a crew member becoming ill or a flight being delayed or canceled – the planner must find a solution as quickly as possible without influencing other areas of flight planning. This is made possible by the IOCC Platform, with NetLine/Crew and the crew optimizers being used as sub-components. It is this overall view of the departments which can give you a clear economic advantage.
- In the first phase of crew planning, anonymous rotations are created – as a kind of framework plan – using the optimizer NetLine/Crew Pairing xOPT. This should reduce crew costs, e.g. for transportation and hotel accommodation, to a minimum and contain sufficient time buffers to absorb any disruptions.
- In the second phase, duty planning, the rotations are distributed together with days of leave to the crew members and thus personalized, giving consideration to all rules and legal requirements (rostering). For this phase of crew planning we have developed the optimizers NetLine/Crew Fairness xOPT and NetLine/Crew Preferences xOPT. NetLine/Crew Fairness xOPT works according to the principle of even distribution. Each crew member is allocated the same number of flight hours, days of leave and other details. With NetLine/Crew Preferences xOPT, on the other hand, the preferential bidding procedure takes the wishes of the crew into account. This procedure therefore makes an important contribution to the airlines' efforts to provide employee satisfaction.
The NetLineCrew optimizers allow you to reduce costs and increase the efficiency of your duty plans.
