Lufthansa CityLine extends cooperation with Lufthansa Systems
Lufthansa Systems will continue to link nine German locations of Lufthansa CityLine with its data center. Since 2003, the Lufthansa regional carrier has relied on SkyConnect, the dedicated WAN services from Lufthansa Systems for a fast and secure processing of its data traffic. SkyConnect ensures a safe and reliable data exchange between the airline's locations.
Global, unrestricted data exchange via high-capacity and high-availability networks is essential for airlines. With SkyConnect, Lufthansa Systems provides a global network which combines high availability and outstanding data capacity. In addition, airlines benefit from a high degree of flexibility at an excellent price-performance ratio. SkyConnect enables them to achieve cost savings of up to 30% without compromising on performance.
Lufthansa CityLine is one of five strong partners in the Lufthansa Regional concept. With a fleet of modern and environmentally compatible medium- and short-range jets, the airline serves all important airports across Europe with a total of up to 400 daily flights. In 2008, around 7 million passengers flew with Lufthansa CityLine.
