Lufthansa Systems implements E-Ticketing for Air Dolomiti
Air Dolomiti and Lufthansa Systems have signed an agreement to provide advanced electronic ticketing services to Air Dolomiti’s customers. With this decision Air Dolomiti follows the IATA directive to introduce 100% E-Ticketing by the end of 2007.
Lufthansa Systems has successfully developed a system that fulfils the very complex requirements of e-ticket interlining, enabling customers to be checked right through to their final destination, without the need for traditional paper tickets even if several airlines are involved. In a first phase, Air Dolomiti’s launch of e-ticketing will incorporate interline agreements with Austrian Airlines. A first workshop to define the interline business requirements was held with Air Dolomiti at the end of April.
Air Dolomiti was founded in 1989 and has since developed into Italy's leading regional carrier. Today the company is part of the Lufthansa Group and a member of the Lufthansa Regional network. Headquartered in Verona, Air Dolomiti flies between19 destinations within Italy, Germany and Austria, carrying almost 1.5 million passengers in 2006.
