Aircargo Operations ACO, the new cargo handling arrival at Bratislava Airport will be the third new customer this year for Lufthansa Systems’ ELWIS (Electronic Logistics & Warehouse Information System) freight handling system, following Dresden, Halle/Leipzig and the new Bangkok International Airport. The IT system covers the entire workflow from physical handling to documentation, automated customs clearance and complete invoicing of the handling services. It thus increases throughput, reduces costs and creates the necessary conditions for optimum customer service.

September 22, 2005Lufthansa Systems wins IT outsourcing contract with Süddeutsche Zeitung
On October 1, 2005, Lufthansa Systems will take over the operation of a number of critical IT systems for Süddeutsche Verlag Mediengruppe. Up until now, these systems have been operated by Süd-DATA Systemhaus GmbH, an internal IT service provider which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the media group. According to the newly concluded agreement, crucial publishing applications - such as the production and editing systems of Süddeutsche Zeitung, as well as various planning systems - will be operated in the Lufthansa Systems data center in Munich for the next five years.

The decision in favor of Lufthansa Systems was made after a thorough selection process involving leading IT service providers. The contract is for a term of 36 months.
