The supervisory board of Lufthansa Systems Group GmbH appointed Wolfgang F.W. Gohde (51) in today's meeting as new Chief Executive Officer. Gohde will succeed Dr. Peter Franke (60) on April 1, 2005, who will retire after ten successful years as the company's CEO.

Lufthansa Systems has extended the capabilities of NetLine/Sched, the IT solution for efficient flight planning, by adding a new charter module. NetLine/Sched is part of Lufthansa Systems' NetLine product line. As most charter airlines have started to sell seats directly and a growing number of network carriers are selling tour operator allotments on their scheduled flights ("mixed operations"), NetLine/Sched now includes a functionality for the needs of network carriers, charter airlines and mixed operations. New editors and a special booking data handling feature offer the possibility to process direct bookings, tour operator allotments and mixed operations at the same time. Spanair, the second-largest Spanish airline, has been using the charter module since late October.

Our FMS Navigation Database Services has yet attracted another customer in the Asian market: Bangkok Airways. The FMS database supplies comprehensive navigation data for cockpit systems and contains important route information including altitude data and alternate airports to optimize the flight planning. It is now used successfully by over 110 airlines worldwide. The content, consisting of worldwide aeronautical data, is adjusted monthly to the planned operating area of the aircraft. Lufthansa Systems guarantees that the FMS database is customized to the individual types of aircraft used by the airline.
