Austrian Airlines has relied on the Web Check-in solution from Lufthansa Systems since January 2007. Over the last year the monthly growth rate has averaged 7 to 10% with constant system availability.

Based on standard Internet technology, Lufthansa Systems’ GroundSolutions/Web provides self-service check-in at any place and any time. Passengers can select a seat via an aircraft-specific seat map and receive a 2D bar-coded boarding pass either as a home-printed version or sent to the customer’s mobile device. Advanced features such as APIS data collection, even APIS Quick Query (AQQ) for the US destinations, group check-in or stand-by ID travel are integrated in the Web Check-in solution of Austrian Airlines.
